An outsider artist who has been creating new work for most of her life, Jen Bodine's unique concepts and exciting use of color express her interpretation of people and nature to bring a multi-faceted perspective to the viewer. Working in many mediums such as watercolor, acrylic screenprinting and glass, Jen is inspired by the special connections between people, cities, space and time, amplifying them with layers of color, texture, and depth. Her goal is to express to the viewer a different way to see and interpret the everyday world around them, engaging them emotionally through layers of pigment.
Her decade-long career as a scientist has bled into her work, with many techniques and ideas inspired by her passion for chemistry and physics. She imagines the journey of life as an entangled set of people and events, driving us down a path that entwines us all.
